Appletree Designs is a boutique Interior Design studio that focus on all levels of design needs, from new construction to renovations. Our experienced interior design team at Appletree Designs are passionate about creating beautiful, comfortable spaces for their clients and can work to any specified budget.

Established and based on The Kapiti Coast, just north of Wellington, we are dedicated to jobs all over New Zealand. We are committed to our clients design needs, from the dawning of a vision to the final installation. We pride ourselves on creating designs that are current yet, timeless and sophisticated.

Rachel Steinmetz

Director + Interior Designer

Internationally acclaimed and award-winning interior designer, Rachel Steinmetz, offers over 15-years of valuable interior design knowledge and experience which she has gained from living and practicing in both Europe and New Zealand.

Rachel has worked along side internationally recognised Interior Photographer, Ashley Morrison, where much of her work has been published in leading international magazines. These include, Ideal Homes, 25 Beautiful Homes, Country Homes, Northern Ireland Homes and Interiors, Real Homes and most recently, NZ House & Garden.

Susan Green

Senior Designer

Susan was the first person we bought into the Appletree family in 2015. She has proved to be the perfect fit for our little boutique team. Her background in fine arts gives her an exceptional eye for colour and design.

Renee Cooper

Our Office Angel

Sadly Renee is no longer with us. We will miss her everyday.

Joanne McCullagh

Accounts, Logistics + Office Manager

Jo is the newest addition to Appletree Designs. Since Covid-19 hit in 2020, logistics and tracking has become vitally crucial to our small team. Jo keeps our designers and clients fully informed every step of the way. Jo also takes on the role of accounts and office manager.

Paul Steinmetz

Director + Installer

Paul is a crucial link in the chain, helping make Appletree the success it is today. Paul is an ex-professional rugby player turned Super Dad to our three young kids. When he is not doing Daddy Day Care duties, he is running the installation team at Appletree.
